Return Policy

Stock Items: If for any reason you're not satisfied with your non-engraved item, simply return it for a prompt and courteous exchange, credit or refund of the merchandise purchase price. If your item is defective or damaged we will replace the item for you. Please remember items must be returned in the condition they were sent. Items worn/used or altered in anyway cannot be returned. A restocking fee may apply. Any changes to the return policy on a specific item will be noted on the product page. Please make sure to read the full description of the item before ordering.

Before returning an item you need to send an email to Horse Smarts at the email address at the bottom of the page to notify us that you will be returning the item. If a package comes back without an email contact first that is considered a forced returned & may be refused & returned to the sender. Items need to be returned within 30 days of purchase. We are flexible on this time frame at Christmas time. Please include in the box a copy of your receipt and a brief explanation as to why the item is being returned. If you are exchanging for a different size make sure to include the new size you would like. Once we receive the item we will process your exchange, credit or refund.

      * An item being defective is not an item a dog or horse has chewed. It must be a manufacturer defect.

      * An item that has been worn, altered or oiled cannot be returned.

Engraved Items: We DO NOT accept returns or exchanges on customized/personalized items. All sales on these items are final! All items will be engraved EXACTLY the way it was shows on your order receipt. We do not correct grammar or spelling. We engrave the text on your items EXACTLY the way you enter it on your order. If your item is damaged or wasn’t engraved as specified on your order, please contact us within 3 days of receiving your package with pictures of the issue so we can replace your item. If your item arrived incorrect and can be fixed, the item will be corrected or a discount offered.

All items are personalized EXACTLY how you enter the information on your order. Please double check your spelling, grammar and any dates entered. In the description of each product it shows how many characters are available per line. Characters are letters, numbers, punition and spaces. The box will ONLY allow the stated amount of  characters to be entered. Make sure to count your characters or watch for some to be cut off if you try to enter more than offered. Please review your order confirmation email to make sure everything on your order is correct. Once your item is engraved it cannot be return unless the item was damaged during shipping, defective or wasn’t engraved as you specified on your order. 

Please READ the product description. You will find pertinent information about the item. For example colors, sizes, layouts, characters available, return policy changes etc. We do not offer refunds because a customer did not read the description and assumed something about the item. We provide this information so customers know everything about the item they are considering purchasing. So please read the description.

Edgewood Horse Items: 
We custom order in all of our Edgewood horse items. We are happy to exchange for a different size but we do not accept returns on Edgewood horse items.
