Classic comfort for your pet! The rolled leather collar is available in sizes for toy breeds through large breeds. Toy breed, small and medium dog sizes (1/2, 5/8, and 1 inch sizes) are constructed with a buckle-end style while large dog sizes (1-1/4 inch) are made in the extended d-end pattern for extra strength. These rolled leather dog collars have beveled and hand polished edges for comfort. Assembly is completed with a bright nickel-plated buckle with dee ring and smooth capped rivets making this a collar that wears well year after year after year. These leather dog collars are a favorite of Dachshund owners because of their smooth interior edges, but any dog with long fur, say a Border Collie or Spaniel, or with a short, smooth coat like a Greyhound or Rottweiler, for example will also benefit from a Rolled Leather Collar. A favorite dog collar with groomers because they don’t mat the fur or cause “winging” around the collar.

Buckle Style Dog Collar Sizing Guide

Inspect and replace a collar, harness, or leash as soon as it shows signs of wear. Even though your new dog collar or harness is adjustable, it is important to measure your dog carefully for his comfort and your peace of mind. You will not want the collar so loose that it slips over the dog's head or so tight that he can't breathe properly. Keep in mind that our measurements are from the center bar of the buckle to the farthest hole and that you will be able to adjust the collars or harness down from there. Please also take into account that each collar will have 2″ of adjustability. Given the example of a 14″ dog collar, a 14″ collar will adjust from 12″ to 14″. 

If you are satisfied with the fit of your dog's current collar, measure that collar from the center bar of the buckle to the farthest hole (See picture above). Auburn Dog Collars collars are sized according to this measurement, not to the over-all length of the collar which varies by manufacturer

If this is your dog's first collar or you need a collar in a different size, measure around the dog's neck just as you would like the new collar to fit. The collar shouldn't be so tight that it will cause discomfort or loose enough to slide over the dog's head. If you don't have a flexible tape measure, you can measure your dog's neck with a string then measure the string with a flat ruler. A rule of thumb is to leave an allowance for two fingers to fit between the collar and the dog for a comfortable fit. The collar should not be so tight that it will cause discomfort or so loose that it slides over the dog's head.

Other things to consider: Remember that puppies grow quickly, so it is important to check the tightness of your dog collars. Inspect and replace a collar or a leash as soon as it shows signs of wear that threatens the integrity of the collar/leash.
